  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have learnt a great deal about working in a large food company and I can use this in my food development modules next year. I have also gained many experiences that I can use as examples in future interviews

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The office was friendly and I was encouraged to take breaks with colleagues

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The internship was very well organised. I was encouraged to attend as many activities as possible and also had the opportunity to arrange activities myself. The company provided a good induction at the start of the placement allowing me to begin working at my own pace within the first 2 months

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I was able to ask to attend events that would help develop my skills such as presentations. In the first few weeks of placement I was trained 1:1 by my buddy to build confidence in my practical skills so I would be comfortable working on my own or with other people.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Company Parties/Events

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There was a good mix of people and there were social events during working hours i.e. lunches. However I found that my team in particular had a tendency to stay late and not engage in social activities outside of work. The fellow placements students provided a good social scene including day trips at weekends and parties for birthdays

    3/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Socialising I found to be very expensive as I am used to Leeds student prices. The cost of living was reasonable as I paid £100 per week for a double bed en-suite room including all bills

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Again I am used to the nightlife in Leeds which is much more student orientated. I found the nightlife to be good but quite overpriced.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were many opportunities' to do activities outside work such as volunteer days and team days

    4/5
