Pathfinder Scheme Review

The Linklater's Pathfinder Programme was an extremely enjoyable experience. It provided us with real, hands-on experience of the firm, whilst also comprising of a series of talks which contained extremely helpful and insightful information on how to become a better prospective candidate for law firms, and also commercial firms more generally. The evening activities were also very entertaining and well thought out.

It is clear that the firm cared about the Pathfinder students, and we were treated extremely well throughout the scheme. Linklaters clearly takes this insight programme seriously, and considered us as being on the first step to a long-lasting relationship with the firm.

The trainees, associates, partners and graduate recruitment team were all very willing to answer any questions we had, and tailored advice specifically to our needs, which I found very helpful and encouraging.

The exposure that we gained in the different departments we sat in most definitely helped me to form a much more substantiated opinion on the industry as a whole. Although it may not have been directly helpful in my degree, it has most certainly helped with giving us a taster of what working there would be like, and provided direction.

Every part of this short programme was clearly meticulously thought out and planned, and I can honestly say I was impressed with how much I learned from the brief two days I was there.

The general atmosphere was relaxed, and very friendly. It was hard to believe that one of the leading law firms in the world was able to maintain such an amicable and comfortable atmosphere, and the lack of apparent hierarchy relative to other similar firms was a definite contributor to this atmosphere.
