    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The people there were great and I was increasingly given more variety and responsibility

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • The culture and values towards employees is very good. There really is a 'family' type atmosphere there.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My line manager was there most of the time for support. I certainly learnt a lot from her in 12 months.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Most of the time I was fairly busy which is a good thing.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • While it was unfortunate for some people, there were several redundancies at the company. I benefited from this in that after 6 months, I was given many of their roles to do. I ended up managing on a day to day basis a small car rental service.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I learnt far more from being on a work placement than I ever did at Uni. This introduction to the corporate world was invaluable!

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Pretty good - there's was plenty of nights out organised so everyone got on well.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Could have been better. There was a mix up with my start date, and the structure of the 12 months could be improved.

    3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Not so much in formal training, but the tasks and responsibility I was given over time helped me develop greatly.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised/Company Gym

    National Travel

    Company Parties/Events

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • When I left my placment, I didn't think I'd ever go back, as I didn't agree with the direction of the company at the time. However, 4 months after graduating I was offered a job, when new senior management came in. I returned in Nov 04 and am still there now!

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • I'm still in touch with many people I worked with. There was a good social scene throughout the company, and always nights out organised.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • It''s greater London so fairly expensive. But the salary was sufficient to live and socialise well.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Central London was only a 30 min train ride away. But the nightlife in the area was pretty good.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • I played for the company football team. Plus there was opportunities to volunteer for team charity work.
