  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

    • Very enjoyable. Interesting to sit in different practice areas as in many cases, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed one seat when I thought I would dislike it EG acquisition finance.

    • Work shadowing trainees - evident that they had taken time out of their day to talk with you and explain the practice area.

    • Feedback and mock assessment day very useful for future applications.

    • Very useful for applications to hogan lovells in the future as I can talk with ease about the firm and the practice areas. I also have a greater insight into commercial law.

    • Presentations well thought out and engaging.

    • Everyone at the firm was very welcoming. All participants on the scheme got on well and worked together easily.

    • The firm held mock assessment days which will be very useful for applications in the future. Fast tracking our applications for vacation schemes also shows their interest in us as candidates in the future.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?

    • Having mentor trainees, working with a different trainee each day and listening to different talks were all excellent ways to introduce us to life at the firm. Talk by Chris stoakes also a great way to introduce commercial law and simplify practice areas.

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?

    • £350 given for expenses

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?

    • Dinner with partners was really interesting. Daily contact with trainees during work shadowing and lunches which gave ample opportunity to ask questions and learn about the firm.

    • Clubs such as football, ballroom dancing competition. Lots of socials and drinks events.
