    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed my placement and would definitlety look into accountancy as a career when I graduate.

  • I felt very valued by my colleagues as when I did something well colleagues would tell me

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • The people where very approachable, especially at management level and always had time for you if you needed advice or support.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • After the first month or so once I settled in I always had things to do, sometimes I was busier than others and had maybe to much work but it is always better than having nothing to do and I enjoyed the work so didn't mind if it involved staying late.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I feel I was given plenty of responsibility as I was sent to clients by myself after a while and dealt directly with clients.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Very much, some of the things I'd learnt during my degree I was using on my placement and I definitly think some of the things I learnt whilst on placement I will use in my final year and when I start working once I graduate.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • There was a great atmosphere in the office and people were very sociable and being a large office there was always something happening.

  • I was only the second placement student in the department but I was treated the same as a graduate recruitee so was given the same work etc.

  • I went on a couple of training course which were useful.

  • I've been offered a job and will probably return once I graduate.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • I was the only placement student there but there were several other graduates who were a similar age to myself.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Similar to university but I lived in the city centre so my rent was quite expensive.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Good.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Several, there were local and national football tournaments as well as several nights out organised by work. There were also 'away days' for the office and various departments.
