    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The hours were long and the work was tough going, although I had a very good insight into the company and made good progression I did not fully enjoy the sales role.

    2/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • The team were great and very friendly to work with.

    3/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Although my manager gave me little support my team members, mentor and members of HR were great when I needed help. I was given adequate training and could always find help from someone if needed.

    3/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Some days I was busier than others but that goes with the general business of things in Hereford. Although I did feel I was used as a "driver" more that I was as a managing trainee.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was trusted to drive the Enterprise cars and was responsible for setting up rental contracts with customers and company accounts.

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Doing the placement has given me a great insight into the functioning of an actual business and the hands on sales training was great. I have also had experience with figures of the business which has given me a great knowledge of what equations are used to calculate which figures and how.

    3/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The job is not exactly great fun but it gives you an insight into the business world. The hours were long and at times the placement got very repetitive but it has been an invaluable experience.

    2/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • After the interviews and assessment centre and once I had secured the placement there was confusion as to what my role would actually be as Enterprise kept changing their minds on whether interns were going to drive during the placement. In addition to this I only found out which branch i was based in a few days before I was due to start.

    2/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • We were given a large amount of training at the beginning of the placement and put up in a hotel overnight. I then had once other training session during the placement however felt there should have been more training on certain areas before being put in the branch situation.

    2/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Financial Bonus

    Company Parties/Events

    Above 25 days holiday

    Healthcare from home

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I don't think I would go back to work for Enterprise, although it was a great learning experience its not the career I want when I finish University. The company believed in working their employers to the max and I do not feel this is the best strategy to get the most out of employers.

    2/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • After spending so much time with colleagues during work hours, it was nice to take a break away from the work scene and just relax.

    1/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Fortunately the internship was in my home town where I lived rent free with my parents!

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Hereford night life is not great, but i've grown up here and all my friends are from this area.

    2/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • A few events went on but they were mainly in the area of area headquarters, birmingham, which is a fair drive from where I was based so i never made it to anything outside of work.
