About You
It was a really good exposure to the banking world- HR was very good at organising the programme and very approachable. The programme was versatile and allowed me to explore different sections of the bank on my own terms. The activities all targeted different areas of skills which allowed me to see what was required for the job and made me realise that I would very much like to pursue a career in banking.
Very much- I was assigned a buddy who took care of me very well, a manager who was open for any questions I had. The team I worked with all offered me some of their undivided attention,
They didn't hold my hand but this was a positive as it allowed me to be independent and manage how much learning I wanted to do. In all it wasa a very good amount of guidance in terms of tips and made me aware of what they expected from me during the internship.
Networking skills improved massively, and this is something that will be useful throughout my life. Presentation, research, communication and teamwork skills were also developed significantly.
The Company
Very well balanced between shadowing different people, one to one learning for me is the most effective way to learn, independent learning- through access to online learning platform, workshops and talks.
amazing- the other girls on the internship were so lovely, my team was very welcoming and the HR staff very approachable. I was very well taken care of.
The whole internship was directed at my development and learning.
Very significantly. I did the same hours as the team I was assigned to, I was exposed to several different complications and stress levels and I was invited to meet a client. I experienced a variety of different situations.
A lot- they were very clear about their company ethos and policies and I felt all their employees reflected it throughout the internship.
Very valuable- I was not 100% about banking before I did this internship and now I am sure this career is for me.
Everything Else
yes there were a plenty opportunities
The only suggestion I would have is to not have initial networking during meal times and better vegetarian options (the salad went incredibly quickly)
yes they told us about the gym but they didn't really stress any company activities such as the charity they support and conferences that were available to us.
yes 100%
