  • Good location, pleasant office environment. Interesting work tasks and good support from team.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Fairly valued, given jobs to do that were useful and important to my colleagues.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Bi-weekly meeting with my manager was useful in developing my skills and identifying areas for improvement. Training was always available!

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Sometimes bored, sometimes very busy. Don't be afraid to ask for more work if you are bored! And if you are busy? Grit your teeth and bare with it, you will be rewarded!

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Good level of responsibility, carried out some important work for GSK dealing with big partners. But you need to prove you are capable and reliable to do the job!

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have learnt lots this year, my soft skills have developed leaps and bounds. Technically I am also more aware of technologies used within IT in the business world.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Good, the office is open plan which promotes talking. Banter is always a plenty. Depends on your sense of humour and your team! The perimeter team are always a good laugh! If you prefer some quiet time there are quiet booths too.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Placement was not well arranged, finding housing is difficult when students start at varying times during the year. Community between students was also very poor as a result of this.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company has sent me on 3 live courses and I have had lots of training online too! The company invest heavily in making sure you get the right training to develop your skills.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • GSK did not arrange their students well, with varying start dates getting to know other students was difficult, as such I only made a few good friends during my time!

    4/5
