The Role
I have really enjoyed my time here at accenture. I am currently doing a comp sci BSci degree and Accenture is the leading force in IT so I was very excited to be doing my placement here. I have learnt alot about the IT landscape and what it's demands are. However I feel the work I have been doing is not relevant to my degree but I am definitely able to take the soft skills I have developed and use those in my final year at University.
Deeply, the people are what make Accenture great. I have felt the weight of responsibility and been in a possession where I am the go to person. No matter what your age is you will get treated equally is you speak sense.
Regular contact and consistent feedback was always provided.
Accenture outsource resources to clients/projects and if none are available one can expect to find themselves on the bench trying to look for a role. This time can be used effectively to develop technical/soft skills which would increases chances of securing a role. I found myself working really late hours some days and others I would leave bang on 5:30. I'm told this is to be expected with consultancy work.
I wouldnt go as far as to say i was running the show but on my previous project I was the go to guy for a certain technology and was look at for support. Only being an intern this took e back a bit but It was a great feeling knowing I was a valued part of a team.
They aren't a complete waste of time, I truly believe I have gained invaluable skills and knowledge which will benefit me in the future. They may not be relevant to my degree but will help when I'm looking for a graduate role.
The Company
Friendly, enthusiastic and professional. It felt like a team, you could go up to someone else and ask for help or whatever.
It was the real deal, the true experiance of what it's like to work for accenture. When working on projects you are an Accenture employee not a placement student and so you are expected to complete the same level of work as everyone else.
If I hadnt of been a placement student they were going to send me on a 6 week training course in Germany. Apart from that I am now Mulesoft certified and I have been given a years free subscription to PluralSight.

My performance reviews have been great and I am likely to be offered a graduate job.
The Culture
We had regular contact within the start up group, and the first week I organised a football game which quite a lot of people attended. We still speak and are trying to organise another!
Living in london can be expensive but it does have it's perks. There are so many things you can do, and most of them are available through the company.
Every wednesday we have a social, and there have been 3 large scale parties which I have attended an they were all great!
I got the opportunity to go to Arsenal Football stadium to represent Accenture in a workshop aimed at 11-17 year old students.
