    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed my time with Accenture, I was exposed to the IT industry and given many opportunities to further my understanding of the degree I am studying at University.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt really valued by my colleagues, specially with project that were out of London. Everyone at the office were really nice and were always happy to help with queries.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Whenever I needed support or guidance my manager was always there to help. I gained valuable knowledge from him that I will use in the future towards building my career.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • On a daily basis depending on the project it varied. There were times when we had a good balance of work and sometimes when there was a lot of work. Though when it got busy my manager always made sure to split the work accordingly to get it completed on time.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • During my placement I was given a certain a good amount of responsibility, for instance leasing with team. As well as helping to manage offshore resources to ensure our deadlines were met.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I think the skills I gained at Accenture will definitely help me in the future, I was able to further my understanding of programming and technical skills. I also learnt many transferable skills that I believe will help me immensely in the future.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • There general atmosphere was great, everyone was welcoming and after a while it did feel like a family away from home.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The overall placement was well organised it began with training which gave all of us a foundation before moving into client projects. Whenever there were issues we had the support of the HR team to assist with queries and any confusion we may of had.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I think in terms of personal training and development Accenture would be one of the best companies to work for. I was given the opportunity to attend training days which involving expanding my technical knowledge.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • It was great to receive and offer from them once my placement finished, I was welcomed back to come as a graduate software engineer. The contract is very flexible.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There were many company events, this allowed fellow placement students to meet and socialise. I believe this was great as we got to know everyone in our scheme.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The cost of living was slightly high because some of the projects I worked on were in central London. However some projects were outside London and in those instances Accenture do pay for the expense of living away from home which was great.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The nightlife in some of the areas I worked in were good and had plenty of activities to socialise.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work. For instance Accenture do a lot of work with charities so we got to be part of that. In addition we were always given charity days were we could choose who we like to help.
