The Role
I really enjoyed my time with Accenture, I was exposed to the IT industry and given many opportunities to further my understanding of the degree I am studying at University.
I felt really valued by my colleagues, specially with project that were out of London. Everyone at the office were really nice and were always happy to help with queries.
Whenever I needed support or guidance my manager was always there to help. I gained valuable knowledge from him that I will use in the future towards building my career.
On a daily basis depending on the project it varied. There were times when we had a good balance of work and sometimes when there was a lot of work. Though when it got busy my manager always made sure to split the work accordingly to get it completed on time.
During my placement I was given a certain a good amount of responsibility, for instance leasing with team. As well as helping to manage offshore resources to ensure our deadlines were met.
I think the skills I gained at Accenture will definitely help me in the future, I was able to further my understanding of programming and technical skills. I also learnt many transferable skills that I believe will help me immensely in the future.
The Company
There general atmosphere was great, everyone was welcoming and after a while it did feel like a family away from home.
The overall placement was well organised it began with training which gave all of us a foundation before moving into client projects. Whenever there were issues we had the support of the HR team to assist with queries and any confusion we may of had.
I think in terms of personal training and development Accenture would be one of the best companies to work for. I was given the opportunity to attend training days which involving expanding my technical knowledge.

Working from home
It was great to receive and offer from them once my placement finished, I was welcomed back to come as a graduate software engineer. The contract is very flexible.
The Culture
There were many company events, this allowed fellow placement students to meet and socialise. I believe this was great as we got to know everyone in our scheme.
The cost of living was slightly high because some of the projects I worked on were in central London. However some projects were outside London and in those instances Accenture do pay for the expense of living away from home which was great.
The nightlife in some of the areas I worked in were good and had plenty of activities to socialise.
There were many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work. For instance Accenture do a lot of work with charities so we got to be part of that. In addition we were always given charity days were we could choose who we like to help.
