    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • PLEASE NOTE: This review was for a placement at Watson Wyatt prior to Towers Perrin merging with Watson Wyatt to become Towers Watson. (The RateMyPlacement Team) I thoroughly enjoyed almost every day of the 6 weeks i was there, the team and everyone in the company was very encouraging and there was no patronising to be heard from anyone.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Couldn't fault my colleagues, they definitely made an effort to prevent me from ding aimless tasks and i felt like a member of the team instead of being a coffee boy.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I had weekly meetings with my buddy and my line manager talked to me whenever he could, and i caught up every lunch time with them. There was no time i felt i needed more direction.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • It was based on client work so occasionally there were lulls in work load but then i had the project to fill my time with

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • The responsibility was a lot considering my lack of expertise, i felt like i did everything i could have without going out of my depth.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The knowledge on financial products and terminology will undoubtedly make things easier to understand this year. Powerpoint ability improved also. Teamwork skills also were emphasised throughout.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • There was a constant hum from some teams and other more silent ones still had a fair amount of chat. It was professional but not boring.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • It was fairly well organised but that was due to my team putting more effort in than the organisation itself. The introduction days were very good.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I was included on a few days out for education with the senior members of the firm. The initial days were very well set up in a hotel in Westminster.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Financial Bonus

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • It was very much, make your own night, there isn't much nightlife in Reigate but there are nice places and London is a short train journey away.
