The Role
I really enjoyed my internship as I was able to work with some amazing people and also in a very good role. The role involved a lot of work with senior colleagues as well as doing some very important work which made me feel very involved. Didn’t get to work with any clients much which would have been nice.
I felt very valued by my colleagues. I was asked for my input for various issues and was involved in a lot of meetings which made me feel like my opinion was respected. They also made sure to ask me how I was feeling on the project and if I needed any help.
I worked very closely with my line manager which meant that he gave me a lot of support and guidance during the whole project. I didn’t work as closely with the project manager but this was understandable considering his seniority and he was still willing to help me when he had time.
The amount that I was busy on a day to day basis varied significantly. When I initially joined the project there was not much for me to do as I didn’t have the necessary experience, after getting to know my colleagues I received more and more work becoming more busy especially towards the end.
Initially I wasn’t given much responsibility during my project but as my project progressed I was able to get involved with more significant pieces of work and take on more responsibilities. This was due to understanding the needs of the project more and getting to know my colleagues better too.
The intitial one week training helped me understand more about how the projects worked as it mimicked the situation. The excel training was also key as a lot og my work involved working with Excel and knowing how to use it effectively. Other skills were learnt on the job and my colleagues helped me learn how to do certain tasks and use certain softwares.
The Company
The general atmosphere in the office was a good one. Other staff including those not on the project were always willing to have a chat and share of coffee during breaks. Everyone was also sociable and the use of hot-desking meant that you sat next to many different people which helped you socialise with different people you may not normally do so
The overall internship was pretty well organised. Others however, didn't have a project for the initial few days and so they may have thought it wasn't. However, my project was well organised and I feel that the HR department and those on the project for making sure everything was well prepared.
The firm spent a lot of time during our first week on training. Excel skills sessions and the other personal development sessions suggest that there was a lot of investment in us. These varied in their help but they were all done to improve us and make sure we had enough quality to work well on our projects.

Very appealing. I hope to go back to Accenture, provided they will take me back. The office is very enjoyable and the people there make it an amazing company to work for. I also feel career prospects and work life balance are both very good there too so feel it's very appealing.
The Culture
There was not a great social scene amongst the interns. Due to the short nature of the internship there wasn't many intern events organised by the company so we could get to know each other. There was some attempt to make a social scene by the interns and this had varied success.
The cost of living and socialising was very high in the place I worked in. This is too be somewhat expected though as employment within London usually means a high cost of living and socialising. This meant that there weren't that many opportunities to socialise although there were one or two chances.
I didn't really sample the nightlife as I'm not a fan of this
There were quite a few opportunities to join clubs and societies within the firm, such as sports and lifestyle ones. Unfortunately, due to other commitments I wasn't really able to really get involved with these as much as I'd have liked but hopefully can do in the future if I was to return.
