    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my placement however I lacked a feedback system to know how I was performing.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • We lacked a buddy system which would have allowed interns to properly integrate into the company.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I lacked a buddy and regular support/feedback from my manager. This is certainly an area for improvement.

    2/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • The project that I was set allowed me to manage my own time and be flexible.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I had responsiblity for processing accounts for a product that would be sold, yet I always relied on others for information.

    2/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I think the skills that I have developed will be extremely useful in gaining employment when I graduate. Communication skills especially and confidence in a corporate environment.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere could have been improved if there were organised office socials. Generally, the working atmoshpere was pleasant and positive though.

    3/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • It was the first year that they had taken on an intern so the system wasn't very well organised.

    2/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I don't believed I had much money or time invested in me. I had a few hours of training and most and then I was left to learn things for myself.

    2/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • National Travel

    Healthcare from home

    Healthcare/Dental

    2/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I feel as though my prospects are good although I haven't had any feedback so I have no idea if they will offer me a job.

    3/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Other interns had to organise social events ourselves. It would have been great if the company had organised socials to help us bond.

    3/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I lived at home so I was lucky. However, travelling to work in the morning and paying for lunch proved to be very expensive.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Lots of great bars and pubs

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • I was involved in a corporate social responsibility project and this allowed me to visit a school outside of work hours and also be involved in a sponsored run.

    3/5
