    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I thought the insight week with Danone was absolutely great! Really interesting people and company, and learnt some very useful things. Different layout to others I had attended, much more of a friendly feel and much more enjoyable. Wouldn't change anything about the week and enjoyed all aspects ranging from the social sides, to the corporate experiences and presentations.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I felt really valued during my time at the firm, the employees are incredibly friendly and you were given real projects and responsibility from day 1.. It was incredibly refreshing to work for a company where you are not treated simply as an intern or extra body, but as a valued employee with respect and real responsibility. Really well looked after and really enjoyed it.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • We received loads of help and advice throughout the week from various members of staff and the team. We were provided with end of week feedback to inform us of our performance and ensure we were aware of our areas for development and where to improve. We were very well looked after by the team managing us, and received extra help from other friendly staff members if needed.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I think the skills I learnt with Danone will greatly assist me in both my studies and professional career, I was able to gain experience across a wide range of working environments and learn a lot about the markets Danone operate within. We also learnt vast amounts about strategy and product development, as well as the different parts of the business. We were also helped with our presentation skills, something that I know will help in both my educational and professional development.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Really well structured! There was always something to do and responsibility given out to all of us - and a great variety of things to be doing ranging from presentations to assessments etc. We were given an itinerary weeks before showing what we were going to be doing, along with being kept updated on email regularly. The days never felt boring as we were always doing something different, and we were always kept busy.

  • The general atmosphere was great! Really enjoyed by everyone and the perfect mix of professional versus enjoyable. Everyone was incredibly friendly, and happy to come and introduce themselves which was really supportive. There was never a dull moment and everyone had a really great time - which was incredibly refreshing .

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The firm invested in us hugely in terms of training and development, from allocating us various professionals from within the business to mentor us and offer advice, to providing presentations and personal development advice to help us be successful in the future. We were also very well looked after in terms of accommodation and other treatments to ensure we had an enjoyable and fun time.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • The insight really helped me to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with Danone. We were advertised the graduate schemes, as well as shown all around the various departments and roles within the firm. The structure of the company was also well explained and we were also invited into a large company presentation with other full time employees and allowed time to network and interact with them, allowing us to gain a great insight into the daily life at Danone.

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The insight week was really useful in helping me understand the company culture. Interacting with senior positions within the company showed us clearly the kind of enthusiastic and friendly people who work there, and the ambitious graduates and employees they hire. Also sitting in on one of the corporate presentations showed us elements of the performance and reward schemes and showed us more of the culture of the day to day running's of the business.

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • The content of the day and week were very valuable in helping me decide on my future career path. Many of us went into the week knowing we wanted a graduate scheme but weren't overly sure on how they worked or the kind of roles available etc however Danone presented clear and exciting options, leaving many of us with a clear desire to continue working within the company full time.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • We were treated very well and reimbursed for food and hotel costs as well as receiving a voucher for our later responsibilities. Danone showed themselves to be a very generous and giving company and we were very well looked after.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • There were plenty! From day 1 we were introduced to the staff room and encouraged to socialize and ask questions to the current employees of the firm. We were also invited into the quarterly meeting in which we interacted with employees and were able to connect with them on a social level, and ask them about their careers and experiences with Danone. On the last night we also attended a dinner with a few of the current employee's, which was a fantastic way to get to know them in a more relaxed setting.
