    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I really enjoyed the insight and within the course of three weeks, I managed to learn a lot about the firm, the work done as well as London as a city.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • At Linklaters, I felt very valued as an intern. Everyone went out of their way to make us feel comfortable in our new environment and to explain legal and business concepts to us from scratch. Everyone was very inclusive in that they often called us for departmental and other meetings just so we could learn more, took us out for lunch/coffee breaks to show us around and tell us more about the firm in an informal setting and generally make us feel comfortable and informed.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • The support given by the firm was incredible. Linklaters not only paid for our flight tickets from India but also gave us accommodation in London. In addition, the introduction and orientation programmed were amazingly helpful and helped us break the ice with our co-interns and also settle down into the firm. Throughout the course of the internship, we had the guidance of our trainee buddies and principles who not only guided us through the work, but also told us more about London and things to do in the city.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Interning with Linklaters helped us hone our skills in the academic as well as the social department. My work there helped me better my research skills and helped me know more about the court procedures in UK, which I did not know much about earlier. The various formal and informal social events also exposed us to the law firm social culture and helped us better our people skills, thereby helping us in both our degree studies as well as beyond.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The insight was very well structured in that there was a very planned schedule for all the training programs, professional interactions and social events. The schedule gave us an opportunity to spend sufficient time at our desks, interact with seniors at the firm and learn from them as well as spend time doing fun social activities with the other co-interns.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The general atmosphere at the firm was very positive, energetic but professional at the same time and everyone seemed extremely happy to be working there.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The firm had invested an extraordinary amount of time, effort and money in training us and assisting us in our personal development. Right from the first day, we were given training in how to use the various research tools available, how to create and format documents as per the Linklaters template, video conferences were held with partners from other offices of the firm to help us learn more about , trainig sessions were held to teach us more about the key departments at the firm and we were even given training and help regarding the project that we had to submit.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • The insight was a good way to gain a bird's eye view of what a full time job with the firm would be like. Although we didn't spend too much time at our desks, the three weeks internship gave us a chance to get a holistic idea about what it would be like to work at Linklaters, live in London etc.

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The insight was a great way to learn about the company culture. It gave us plenty of opportunities to talk to all sorts of people at the firm in a formal as well as informal setting and get an idea about the work culture, about the firm-specific practices etc.

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • My experience in the two departments that I worked in while at Linklaters gave me a fair bit of clarity regarding my final choice in choosing my future career path and helped me strengthen and finalize my decision to be a corporate lawyer.
