The Role
I enjoyed the company immensely. The internship was places in their US office and was fairly new, so my experience was not as organized as would be expected, but I enjoyed it none-the-less.
However disorganized it may have been, I never felt once I was under appreciated and I always felt respected. My ideas were taken seriously and that experience exceeded my expectations.
My advisers and managers were very supportive and took me seriously when making contributions.
As it was the first time they had the program in the US, there were times I had too much free time.
Since my ideas were respected equivalent to an employee, my responsibility for pursuing my ideas was as if I were an employee. I was responsible for my pursuit, for my actions, and for the conclusion.
I am a recent graduate from my undergraduate studies who was in graduate school during my internship and the experience helped me realize I was pursuing the wrong studies and it motivated me to pivot my education and career into the direction I see more fit. Sophos was an excellent experience and now I have been offered a position as an employee doing something I love,
The Company
Exceedingly friendly and felt like team-spirit. I was in academia where I felt everyone was in it for themselves and experiencing the Sophos environment felt like I was part of a team pursuing the same goal. I enjoyed waking up to go to work.
It was organized in the sense I had a position, assigned manager, and specific goals to meet.
They invested in me tremendously. I had opportunities to remain with the company and was able to pursue one and am now part of the environment full-time.

The Culture
Yes! I joined the corporate softball team and was able to socialize outside of work with many of my colleagues.
The cost was minimal due to family in the area.
Great! The office is 20 minutes from Boston where there is night life, day life, and all you could want. The city is primarily students as well, so for those who are young, you can socialize with a large population of your age. There is also so much history in Boston, so you could enjoy the city much more than its night life.
Yes. I was part of the corporate softball league and it was a blast!
