The Role
I really enjoyed being able to experience Finance in the real word, putting the theory I learnt into practice! It was a good department where I learnt a lot!
I was given responsibility to manage certain projects and tasks every week. I felt part of the team although I wanted some more responsibility.
I was always given support by all of the colleagues who I could approach if I ever had a problem. Our Financial Director was extremely helpful and always approachable.
Mondays were usually the most busiest day with reporting. I always had tasks to do everyday and was only rarely overloaded with work.

I've found that the skills I picked up on placement have really benefited me in my final year. I can see everything from a different perspective which really helps.
The Company
In General, it was always quite busy and on certain occasions it could get quiet with a lot of work on. However the people around were very friendly and always approachable.
I thought I was given a lot of support by HR throughout the internship who organised everything setting everything up before hand. They made the internship much easier with the support they gave, giving one to one catch up meetings and even offering classes to help build up on more knowledge and skills.
There was less personal training, it was more on the job learning as you go which is similar to most companies. However I was trained to learn the new company systems.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
There is scope for career progression within the organisation and its certainly a good place to work and help you understand how it actually is to work in the real world after university.
The Culture
We had a good social scene with the placement students. We always went out most Fridays and we had different activities that everybody could join including Football, Netball.
Train Fares for me. I was living at home for the year.
Bars and Restaurants a plenty.
They were opportunities with days dedicated to fund raising which was always good fun.
