    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The work I was given was continuous, but I wasn't sure that the area I was in was right for me.

    3/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Everyone knew my name and was willing to answer any questions. The teams I worked in were also particularly sociable.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Any worries or difficulties I had were sorted immediately and everyone was easy to talk to.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Some days were better than others. Whilst working on clients the work was continuous, but some days in the office I had to push a lot harder to find work.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was basically working on my own in terms of talking to clients, but I had a team there just in case I had any questions. In the office I was given jobs at which were at the lower end of the responsibility chain.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills I have learnt will definitely help me in the future as I will most likely be working in a similar area.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Out on site was a lot easier to talk and have a laugh with people, in the office was a little more reserved.

    3/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • There was an excellant induction week for when we arrived, and the rest of our 6 weeks were mapped out for us before we even sat at a desk.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company made sure that we had everything we needed to do our job - from online training, buddy systems to laptops and free coffee!

    3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Company Parties/Events

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • A job is likely for me there, it just depends whether I want to work in that department or I want to re-apply in a different business unit.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Some were really cool, but there was the odd one who was all work or just an idiot!

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Didn't pay rent and Leeds is a relatively cheap city to blow money in.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • It was pretty hard to stay in on a work night with there always being somewhere to go in Leeds.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There was 5aside football, but when I tried to organise a team for an inter office 11 a side competition the interest soon evaporated.

    4/5
