  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • This does not really apply to the insight day as it was just an opportunity to learn more about the company. However, the firm was very keen to give us a deep insight into petroleum and reservoir engineering and were happy to give us a tour of facilities to give us a clearer idea about what goes on. There was also an energy game which taught us about the unpredictability of the energy sector. The networking session also gave us an opportunity to develop our communication skills.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • Although I was not able to complete any work during the day due to the short time span, the networking session definitely gave me a better idea about what kind of jobs are available at BP for someone with my educational background. The employees were very friendly and willing to answer questions about their jobs, which definitely helped understand what a full time role involves.
