    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Thoroughly enjoyable experience, friendly and helpful colleagues combined with work that is very flexible and insightful. Exactly what you would want from a year in Industry.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • All the colleagues here at Mentor Graphics are always on hand for guidance and help you settle in quickly. They are all very friendly and make the experience even more enjoyable.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • The management and supervisors as well as other individuals have been very helpful in terms of what I should be doing and how as well as being there for any support I need along my development, I have never had an issue with anything that someone didn't know and help is always swiftly received.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • On a day to day basis you have assigned work as well as ongoing work that you should be getting on with when you do not have any work assigned. Therefore you always have something to do and the flexibility to look in certain areas of what Mentor Graphics has to offer.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • You are given a lot of responsibility in terms of independent working. It is your responsibility to complete the work assigned and report back to supervisors and ask for any help. You also have the responsibility of choosing what you would like to work on when you don't have assigned work. Which can help you develop in certain aspects you feel you would enjoy.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • This placement helps you gain more knowledge in flow dynamics and heat transfer as well as giving you experience in Industry to use once you graduate. Daily meetings and Planning all help better yourself within key aspects of development such as time management.

    4/5
