    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • IT Audit is not the most interesting thing to do, but is a very good way of understanding the business and its controls and procedures.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I regularly got feedback and was acknowledged for the work I did.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • There are many levels of support available and there was never a time where I felt I was going off course. People were always there to help or talk about anything, formal and informal

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • There were days where there was not much work available for me. Keeping proactive meant I was always able to find something, even though sometimes it was a bit dull.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was not given much responsibility as I have not had the same training as others in the business. It would not be fair to place too much responsibility on me. I fely comfortable with the level given.

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • They will not help me much in the final year, but have developed some good skills which I hope to use if offered a graduate placement.

    3/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • People were really pleasant, but knew when to draw the line and get to work!

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The graduate recruitment team were very well organised, as far as we saw. They kept us well informed on activities that are going to be taking place. They provided great information during the induction week.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • They provided us with some training, but due to the length of the internship training was not as extensive as a graduate would get. I feel the training we were given was sufficient for the tasks we have been doing.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    National Travel

    Company Parties/Events

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I feel I may get a graduate offer, and if I do I will grab it with both hands!

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Made a good group of friends who I aim to keep in contact with after the scheme.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Being central london things were a bit expensive. When going out a bit of planning was needed to find student nights.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • With leicester square very close to us the night life was buzzing.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There are many opportunities, but a lot is up to you to make the effort. As the internship is for a short period I was not able to join in as many activities as I would have liked.

    3/5
