The Role
Was a good insight into life at Savills and working within the property industry. I was very satisfied to be working within the student team, as it gave me a new angle to the property industry that I had not experienced before and I was able to ultilise the skills I had learnt throughout my property degree.
The team were friendly and welcoming, and very helpful if I came into difficulties with tasks.
The HR staff were very welcoming and approachable if I had any queries.
Throughout my placement I was given sufficient work to keep me busy, with plenty of time to complete tasks without working extra hours. Work died down towards the last few days but this is to be expected.
I was given a reasonable amount of responsibility, as much as my qualifications allow, particularly with updating market reports and accurately recording leases.
Currently at the end of my study, with only the final project to complete, the researching skills I have developed will be very useful in completing this as well as contacts within the company being able to answer any future queries.
The Company
Friendly and appraochable, lively.
The internship involved departmental talks and chances to meet graduates and employees outside my department to get a broader feel of the company, as well as a social event for the interns to get to no one another better.
the firm invested time into getting to know all the interns and ensuring that we were getting the most out of the placement.
Company Parties/Events
Very appealing, I will be applying for thier graduate programme in october and very much hope a job opportunity arises.
The Culture
Everyone within the internship were very friendly and a number of events outside the company were organised throughout the month.
Very expensive, as can be expected from the west end, London
Long commutes leading to long days made late nights a rare occassion
The women in property was the only event organised by the company outside of work during my placement
