    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Had a great time with Amex. The people are really nice and the culture is really friendly. They laid on lots of good socials for the interns and, in marketing, there were lots of general office socials. Good work/life balance too.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I was treated just like any other colleague and given a lot of responsibility from the very start. Although it was quite overwhelming, I felt like an important member of the team.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My manager was very supportive, however did give me the opportunity to make my own decisions and find my own way around things - this was nerve-wracking and there was room to make mistakes but meant I learned a lot.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Very! I had a lot to do but still was encouraged to not take on too much and work 9-5 only. Good balance!

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Lots. My project was a lot of responsibility and I was given full leadership of it. It was important the company too and I felt like I made a difference.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • My confidence has increased dramatically and this is really useful. Also, my work ethic is much stronger having worked in an office environment. I learned a lot from the internship.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Very friendly. We had fun and everyone seemed to get along.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Fairly well organised. We had lots of good socials and my project was good for me. However, I was put in a team where my manager, co-worker and buddy were all out of office in the first week. This made it quite difficult to adjust.

    4/5
