The Role
Great internship; a brilliant opportunity to put theory into practice. I learnt a lot about developing enterprise applications and built a solid network. American Express has a really good company culture and are great to work for.
Throughout the internship I felt valued by my colleagues. I was given real responsibility and addressed as a real employee.
Everyone is willing to help however they can. Also if you have any innovative ideas, senior management are willing to listen and develop it. In regards to problems, if I ever had any, my manager will be quick to eliminate it
Everyday was a busy day and a great learning opportunity.
I was given full, real responsibility to develop an enterprise application from day 1.
Throughout the internship not only did I develop my technical skills, such as programming but also soft skills such as networking and team working skills. All of these skills will be necessary for my final year at university!
The Company
Very friendly atmosphere throughout the company.
My internship was very well organised. Everything went very smoothly - from the initial interview to the final day of the internship.
The company values a lot about personal development. Were we often given feedback and set goals for ourselves to improve on and the company would help in doing so.
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
My internship experience has definitely encouraged me to join full time after I graduate!
The Culture
The management did a great job of settling in the interns. There was a strong balance between work and play!
Brighton has a good nightlife
There was a lot of opportunity to play sports or attend activities within your colleagues and even the society.
