About Frontier

Frontier was founded in 1989 when, in association with the WWF, we helped set up a protected marine research park on a remote island in Tanzania. Since then, Frontier has grown to be the premier provider of gap year, volunteering, internships and ethical travel. With accredited Frontier qualifications through ASDAN and EDEXCEL, you can combine fun and adventure with the chance to improve your CV.

Conservation and Community Volunteering and Internship Placements Worldwide

With over 300 projects in 57 countries, Frontier offers a huge range of placements. Volunteers that take part in a Frontier project make an invaluable contribution to a global community and make a positive impact during their time on the project. Frontier’s large range of capacity building projects are varied and flexible, and run by knowledgeable and committed staff.
Volunteers can volunteer and travel for between 1 and 30 weeks, with a range of shorter trips on offer for those who have more limited time. Everyone’s unique budget and passions will be matched to a project ranging from adventure travel experiences, internships abroad, and conservation and community development projects.
