SAP is good, but only as good as the data it is fed – heard of ‘garbage in – garbage out’ ?
Master Data Management (‘MDM’) is the key to controlling the quality of the data that drives our business processes – design, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, sales, customer service – all rely on accurate, complete master data for suppliers, parts, customers etc.
We’re looking for someone to take over from our current intern, working with other Swisslog MDM resources and business users to improve data processes and the quality of master data across our global business.
Clear verbal and written communication skills are a ‘must’ as you’ll be liaising with colleagues in Scandinavia, Continental Europe, Asia, and Australia.
You’ll need to be enthusiastic about getting into the detail of what makes SAP tick – in return you’ll gain knowledge and experience that you can take to any other business using SAP or any other ERP system – potentially a valuable highlight for your CV !
We deal with large volumes of detailed data, so if you’re not already good with MS Excel, you soon will be – it’s invaluable for data analysis and validation, and you’ll also learn how it can be used for data migration.
We are a small team, with a never-ending list of activities/initiatives and wide responsibilities, so you’ll need to take your share – we’ll be relying on you to be proactive, to manage multiple tasks/activities, and to collaborate effectively with your new colleagues.
Things don’t always go according to plan, so you’ll need to be able to react accordingly to respond to business needs, and not be afraid of asking for help.
After your year with us you will have a good understanding of master data concepts and the core logistics business functions of SAP to supplement your CV, and will have helped to improve data processes to significantly benefit our global businesses.

Desirable Skills/Knowledge:
- MS Access skills
- Working with ERP system such as SAP
- Knowledge of key MDM principles
