DevOps Engineering Summer Internship
IaaS Systems and Storage & Engineering (ISSE) team is part of the Operations & Infrastructure technology organisation.
You will work with a team of systems DevOps engineers who adopt, integrate, engineer & support industry leading technologies and management solutions for Data Center enterprise management and control; with a focus on Automation, Orchestration, Monitoring, Data Analysis and CSI across the plethora of tools and services in the portfolio; namely element level automation in Ansible/Ansible Tower, BMC Atrium Orchestrator, Kubernetes, microservices architecture, external cloud technologies and Physical Hardware Monitoring service integration and management.
As an intern you will support the team with ownership of the solutions we provide for our customers to ensure availability, performance, security, and reliability of the applications running on the appropriate solutions, which are critical to Visa’s success. As a team, we will do this all at global scale. Continual, iterative improvements in our process, technology, tools, and automation will be essential to meet those goals.
You will support the team with exciting projects and responsibilities such as:
- Design and implement agile innovative infrastructure solutions/infrastructure management solutions that take advantage of technology advances that allow cost reduction, standardization, and commoditization
- Design, implement and integrate management solutions to effectively manage private cloud implementation (Docker, Kubernetes) at Visa’s data centers across the globe, ensure reliability, elasticity and security
- Design and implement secure Element level automation solutions for both new requirements or replacing current solutions to enable innovative infrastructure processes
- Identify, evaluate, select and engineer highly reliable container scheduling and orchestration solutions that are extremely secure enabling Operations to manage environments simply and effectively, ensure on time, on budget, and quality delivery of shared container platform
- Collaborate with the team to evolve the containerization, Hardware Monitoring and enterprise Orchestration ecosystems, to establish and mature standards and integration for infrastructure management domains - logging, monitoring, configuration management and orchestration

Therefore, our requirements are few:
- Current university student graduating in 2023 or after, and available for an 11 week internship in Summer 2022
- Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a STEM/technical field.
- Experience building software projects in programming languages like as PowerShell, bash, Python, Perl or Go, Docker Compose, Kubernetes deployment yaml construct and/or Helm chart.
- Strong analytical skills, able to work independently to solve complex engineering problems
- Ready to collaborate with good communication skills
- Highly driven and resourceful
