Current degree requirements:

• Studying for Finance / Accounting degree or related business degree.
• 2 years completed – placement between 2nd & 3rd study years.

About the role:

This role is a great opportunity for someone who is not sure which area of an accounts team they would like their career in a finance team to start and progress.

The successful applicant will begin their internship with the transactional account teams, working in Finance Admin, then Purchase Ledger, Credit Control and risk assessments. Then moving into the Management Accounts Team (R2R) & Tax Teams by which time they will have gained huge knowledge and understanding on how the accounts teams work and link together giving them the advantage to see all areas of an accounts team, and establish the areas they would enjoy working or progressing.

On average the applicant would spend approx. three months working in each area to get a good experience in each team, and progress through each team building their knowledge in preparation for their final quarter working with the Chief Accountants and Tax Accountants.

Tasks:

Finance Support & Purchase Ledger Team

• Daily & Weekly Cash Forecasting – learn how to compile forecast and report to Sweden, input payments on to Online Banking
• Banking and allocation of cheques - preparation of daily banking & cash posting
• Online Banking Reports - Preparation/sending of depot banking reports
• Bank Reconciliations – assistance on relevant accounts for various companies
• Setting up New accounts & Credit Checks – Customer and Vendors maintenance
• Raising Invoices – by due dates and as required
• Employee Expense Maintenance – set up/maintenance of database and monthly reporting
• Raising of bank & cheque payments – checking all request for payments are in line with policy
• Company Credit Card Maintenance – setting up/monitoring of expenditure
• Direct Debit Management – set up and maintenance, and creation of collection runs
• Petty Cash – checking and organizing payment
• Payment Runs & Direct Debit Collection process
• Month end activities

Credit Control Team

• Chasing Customers for overdue payments
• Learning about Direct Debit Collection
• Credit Risk and analysis
• Learning Dunning Process
• Legal Process
• Query Management with Customers & Depots
• Learning month end activities

Management Accounts & Tax

• Balance sheet reconciliations & investigations
• Accruals & journal postings
• Working closely with business areas to help achieve/improve results
• Month end and reporting activities
• Tax & VAT reconciliations
• Adhoc work as required by Chief Accountants, and achieving necessary deadlines
• Understanding statutory accounts

Required Competencies:

• Intermediate or advanced Excel knowledge and a strong background in maths and or finance education. An ability to adapt to change and take on new information quickly.
• You will receive training on MS Access, SAP, MS Dynamics, Kestrel, expenses system and online banking.
