Software Engineering Summer Internship

Job Description and Responsibilities

The Cloud PaaS Engineering team works together to build a wide variety of web experiences that power, extend and showcase Visa's internal Cloud platform, such as requesting and managing environments using VMs, containers or bare metals, workflow automation tools, graphs and visualizations for relationships/utilization and a whole lot more.

Joining the team as an intern, you will create efficient and reusable systems with extensive test coverage and modern technologies. You will join a rapidly iterative environment where we prototype new user interfaces, services, and ship new code frequently. You will have the opportunity to support the team with important driving architectural, product and technological decisions.

As a Software Engineering Intern, you will support the team with exciting responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and maintain scalable, distributed, multi-threaded applications
  • Collaborate with team members in design reviews, development, and code reviews​
  • Understand and align with the direction wider the team to deliver robust and usable solutions to meet functional requirements.
  • Work with various Technology and Business counterparts to drive continuous improvement of the platforms.
  • Create documentation and procedures for development, deployment, and maintenance
  • Be a proactive team player and have a passion for delivering zero-defect high-quality code.

Therefore, our requirements are few:

  • Current university student graduating in 2023 or after, and available for an 11 week internship in Summer 2022
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a STEM/technical field
  • Knowledge of a language like JavaScript, HTML or CSS (we use AngularJS and Bootstrap)
  • Strong communications skills
  • A proactive team player who is able to deliver on responsibilities in a timely manner with a high level of quality
