Our Global Finance & Accounting functions ensure our commercial operations across the world are underpinned with sound financial practice. Whether it’s financial accounting, business controlling or the systems side, we have a wealth of opportunities for you to learn and contribute to our best practice operation.

Within the SGFA (Sony Global Finance & Accounting) and CPCE (Corporate Planning & Control Europe) departments, we offer seven intern roles:

1. Junior Financial Planning & Analysis Intern – Professional Solutions Europe (CPCE)

  • The intern will support the reporting and controlling team with excel based financial reporting.
  • Daily Sales maintenance, control & reporting
  • SGA management – Operations, Management, Hawkeye, Marketing.
  • Headcount management – including Temp analysis, reporting to CPCE & PSE Management
  • Month end journals and analysis
  • PSE Actuals & Forecast reporting
  • KPI reporting
  • Inventory & Devaluation
  • Ad hoc Operations requirements

2. Junior Logistics Analyst (CPCE)

  • The intern will support the reporting and analyzing the visibility of Key performance indicators of logistics Europe operations and drive continuous improvements (Kaizen) and transformations activities, on the way to one aligned operation working in the same way and with the same targets.
  • The intern will be part of a larger platform and will participate in the execution of defined logistics procedures and processes within agreed service levels.
  • Month on Month reporting (prepare, compile and verify data into a standard report)
  • Daily reporting (daily sales, inventory and progress reports)
  • Management analysis (analyse trends and patterns to support opportunities for costs saving initiatives, sales & operational planning)
  • Financial analysis (monthly accruals, forecast and budget)
  • Continuous Improvements
  • Invoice Auditing (verifying accuracy of invoices received from logistics partners, reporting)

3. Finance / Marketing Executive – PSE Marketing Services

This role will manage day to day financial reporting of PSE Marketing Communications budgets and assist marketing and communications delivery. Responsibilities include raising Purchase Orders, allocating costs, cost breakdowns, budget planning including actuals and forecasts, reporting for the whole platform, including Japan and individual Business Units and analysis. Role also includes recommending, improving and implementing new financial processes for various teams across the platform.

This role is based with a non-financial team. Additional activities include also the support of planning, creation, and delivery of both digital (Webinar) and physical events (Roadshow, Exhibition) for Sony Professional across the Media Solution and Healthcare Business Groups. You will also be working closely with the Event Managers to organise and coordinate the delivery of engaging customer events. Also, you will be working directly with the Digital Marketing team to help improving our customer experience across the digital events, supporting stakeholders and speakers with digital best practices, and promoting our Webinars online.

4. Strategic Planning Intern (CPCE)

  • The Intern will be member of the Corporate Planning and Control department (CPCE) and perform the following strategic planning tasks:
  • Consolidated financial reporting at SEU corporate level
  • Providing insight from analysis of financial KPI of SEU as a company to drive corporate level initiatives
  • Generating presentation material to deliver above insight which will be seen by senior management of organization.
  • Supporting PMO activities on various PJ involving corporate initiatives and involving high senior management exposure.

5. Balance Sheet, Fixed Assets and Intercompany Intern (SGFA)

  • Main aspects of the role are to support the delivery of financially accurate information and technical finance expertise to internal customers on a Pan-European basis and North America. Specifically, responsibility for month end closing and reporting process, including systems, controls, accruals and provisions, balance sheet reconciliations and reporting of actual results for all European branches.
  • Also, to assist in driving standardized processes and procedures across countries and business groups to deliver efficiency and effectiveness in high volume transactional based accounting. And to support the third-party provider to maintain out-sourced routines in a compliant and controlled manner.
  • The Intern will work alongside other Finance analysts and will support in the delivery of the following:
  • Perform Actuals reporting
  • Presenting monthly performance to senior management
  • Business Partnering and Customer support (actuals reporting, FP&A and Controllership)
  • Support External and Internal Audit
  • Projects to ensure continuous improvement (Kaizen) and enhance ways of working (WOW) - Project management to meet key deadlines
  • Monitoring and supporting offshore (WNS)
  • Monthly SOX compliance procedure

6. Financial Accounting Analyst (SGFA)

As our Accounting Analyst you will be an aspiring Accountant, a self-starter, who will deliver accurate and complete financial reporting, as well as support improvement initiatives in your Group reporting function.

You should have a keen interest to develop your financial and commercial acumen, utilise your enthusiasm and ambition to support the betterment of reporting. In essence, you should be a positive individual, a willing team player, and ready to contribute to a high performing function.

Along with the monthly reporting and preparation cycles, you will also enjoy a business facing profile. As such, you should be keen to understand the commercial side of the business, so that you can become a true Business Partner in all activities, and support standardising processes and procedures, across countries and business groups, in coordination with the Global Process Model, Central Operations and robotic process automation teams.

7. Financial Analyst (SGFA)

  • The intern will perform the following financial planning tasks:
  • Conduct analytical activities related to performance, cost, headcount and service level agreements of SGFA
  • Responsibility for the timely and accurate monthly close of the SGFA cost accounts
  • Responsibility for financial costs associated within SGFA including outsource provider
  • Management and delivery of SGFA finance reporting (internal & external)
  • Liaise with SGFA leadership to set budgets & monitor forecast performance to ensure adherence to financial targets
  • Support SGFA management in evaluating outsourcer service cost and service delivery against benchmark
  • Support Outsource charging review / contract negotiation
  • Support strategic, commercial, and accounting projects incl. business case preparation and financial models for strategic projects
  • Additionally, there will be number of business support accountabilities. The intern should have a proactive approach to enable the wider management team to reach the overall department objectives and the individual department targets.

Your profile:

  • Pursuing a degree in business administration, business management, finance, accounting, economics,…
  • Language: English (fluent). Additional language skills are a plus.
  • IT/IS knowledge: MS Office (especially MS Power Point and MS Excel: pivot table, formulas…)
  • General understanding and interest in Finance & Reporting
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Attention to detail
