What will you be doing:

The role is to support the Data Protection Officer with their efforts to ensure GDPR and UK Data Protection is compliant throughout the Cooper Group – both with CooperVision and CooperSurgical.

In this role you will provide support on a wide range of projects and activities. Activities will include providing any data subject requests that are received as well as enhancing and improving existing processes increasing the compliance of the company.

Essential Functions:

• GDPR Regulations and practical implementation
• Data subject rights
• Process improvements such as Data Protection Impact Assessments
• Helping review new vendors and projects from a data privacy perspective
• Identifying risks and assisting the business in mitigating them

What skills and experience should you have?

We are looking for someone with high levels of computer literacy and intermediate/advanced excel skills. Good data handling skills, project management skills and attention to details. The ideal candidate would be confident and proactive to be able to manage multiple tasks and contribute to new improvements. The candidate should also have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ideally candidates should be interested in the different areas of Law and/or compliance and should be studying for a Legal/Data Privacy or a closely related business degree, and plan on pursuing a career in a related field.
