Direct Sales Placement

VWFS Fleet is dedicated to delivering of a comprehensive range of products and services through high quality customer service, and the growth and development of our contract hire portfolio with UK & International Fleet customers.

The Direct Sales Placement will provide support to Internal Account Managers & the Field Sales team, and be a point of contact for day to day customer enquiries. Supporting with bids, tenders and vehicle quotations, handling inbound customer enquiries, having accountability for completing customer led activities, escalation of issues to relevant senior stakeholders and other administrative tasks including complaints management- All to help ensure VWFS Fleet win, retain and grow the business. By delivering an excellent customer experience.

This placement year is sure to give the successful student a broad and in depth understanding as to how our Fleet Business is run. You will be given the opportunity to work alongside stakeholders of all levels, opening the opportunity to start building a business network and amazing experience to start any future career within the automotive industry.

This is what your day might look like:

  • Supporting both Internal Account Manager and Field Sales Team in completion of their duties.
  • Assist with preparation of sales proposals, quotations and processing of orders, all within SLAs to ensure we win, retain and grow VWFS| Fleet business
  • Quotation follow up with customers and closure to achieve a win rate of quote(s) to order
  • Liaise with Pricing, Asset Risk and the Field Sales Team on adjustments to quotations
  • Assist in provision of bespoke customer reporting, as required upon request
  • Handling in life support enquiries, via email or telephone, achieving high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Assist in preparation of information for Field Sales customer visits where required; support internal customer visits and Tender presentations.
  • Responsible for a range of administrative duties and inter departmental liaison
  • Direct communication with customers to provide pro-active sales support
  • Promotion of the wider product portfolio including Multi-Marque and value added products

About you:

  • Studying towards a Business, Economics or International Business Degree
  • An interest in working in the motor industry
  • Good level of time management and organisational skills
  • Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy and ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally at all levels
  • A proactive and flexible approach with the ability to react appropriately and effectively to changing circumstances and demands
  • IT literate with the ability to grasp new systems
  • A team player with the ability to work under pressure in order to meet strict deadlines
  • Desire to gain experience in a sales environment
  • Ability to demonstrate use of initiative
