Fleet Operational Support Placement

VWFS Fleet is very proud to be the second largest in the UK (Fleet News Top 50) and we are on a huge growth path to become number 1 Leasing Company in the UK. This is an exciting and busy time to join us on this journey. As the Fleet Corporate Services Undergraduate you will support the Corporate Services team providing analysis and business insight; reporting, quality analysis and operational improvement ideas and initiatives. You will have access to a huge range of stakeholders of varying levels, working alongside them, presenting to them and learning from them. You will be involved in all aspects of looking after our fleet corporate customers and then analysing the service we provide and offering improvement ideas highlighting how we can make that service better.

Any Leasing Company can lease vehicles; it’s the service we provide that will set us apart from the competition. This placement year will provide the right candidate with a huge opportunity to really get inside knowledge and understanding of how fleet businesses operate and run. We manage many of the largest Fleets in the UK – our customers choose us based on our fantastic own Brand of vehicles but we also lease multi-marque, meaning if a customer wants to lease a non-branded vehicle, we will purchase this directly from the Manufacturers and lease the vehicle over 2, 3 or 4 years. At the end of the lease, the vehicle comes back to us and is sold at auction. You will gain insight into the beginning to end process and have knowledge of the whole Fleet journey.

This experience will prove invaluable for anyone excited about a career in the automotive industry, but skills are also transferrable as you will have oversight of Marketing, Sales, Operations and Supply chains in the future. This role will spot business opportunity and provide ideas to promote products and services to our customer portfolio giving you the opportunity to see real business change as a result of your insight and actions. If you love the idea of working in a busy, fast paced customer focused environment then this could be the role for you.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Monitor and report on KPI and SLA achievement on a daily, weekly and monthly basis as specified
  • Monitor Case closure rates in Salesforce, provide MI and trend analysis to Team Managers to aid 1:1 performance discussions and highlight where improvements needed
  • Support the collation of customer insight including monthly reporting of complaints and root cause analysis
  • Receive and review performance data and prepare monthly Management Information reports drawing attention to key variances or other areas requiring attention
  • Carry out quality assurance activity –i.e. call and admin evaluation monitoring based on agreed criteria and provide findings and observations to support improvement
  • Review processes and identify potential improvements
  • Assist in the development and delivery of training activity for new projects and process changes to ensure new ways of working are embedded
  • Contribute and support departmental initiatives and change activity across teams
  • Support resource planning for peak time activity
  • Support the teams with Rate Books, Tender requests and other sales related activity

About you:

  • Studying towards any Business related degree
  • Well-developed communication skills – verbal and written
  • Self-motivated, ability to work on own and as part of a team
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to use own initiative through creative thinking, problem solving and critical analysis
  • Demonstrate high levels of accuracy and attention to detail to meet demanding deadlines
  • Advanced PC literacy – Microsoft office skills especially Excel for reporting requirements
  • Ability to present findings back verbally in addition to written reports/presentations
  • Ability to work on your own and as a team
  • Analytical thinking
  • Report writing
  • Inquisitive; confidence and ability to question existing approaches and think outside of the box to explore new ways of working. There is no such thing as a silly idea in Fleet, we want your thoughts and insight to move us a step closer to becoming no1 leasing company in the UK.

What you’ll get: (apart from a wealth of experience for the future…)

  • Earn whilst you learn and receive a competitive salary of £17,500 per annum plus discretionary bonus and access to company pension scheme
  • A fun and sociable workplace to start your career. You’ll be joining a cohort of around 50 undergraduates so you’ll have a large group of colleagues so that you can support each other throughout your placement year.
  • Participate in Lifeskills workshops, designed specifically for our Undergraduates
  • Access to a discounted loan car scheme which means driving 2 brand new vehicles during your placement (a great way to make your mates jealous when you visit them at Uni)
  • Chance to make a difference in the local community with various volunteering opportunities
  • Onsite wellbeing centre – think lunchtime massages, onsite HIIT classes and health check-ups
  • There will be a hybrid blend of working in our office based in Milton Keynes and working from home.
