Role and Responsibilities

What will this role involve?

We recognise that our people are our core asset and are critical to Samsung’s success. Our rotational programme offers the opportunity to rotate around our Recruitment, Learning and Development, Reward, Engagement and Communications and Business Partnering teams. You will gain invaluable insight into the different and specialist teams, working on important key projects and learning commercial skills whilst making a difference and adding value to our business.

Recruitment

During your time in Recruitment you will be involved in the end to end recruitment process. In addition to this you will assist with the cycle to attract and recruit our Emerging Talent community by doing the following:

  • Attending Careers Fairs across the UK to promote our Emerging Talent opportunities
  • Assisting in the preparation, operation and running of our Assessment Centres
  • Owning the process of offering to successful candidates and the rejections for all unsuccessful candidates
  • Being involved in the recruitment for experienced hires

Learning & Development

Throughout the L&D rotation you will gain insight, understanding and jobs skills in the following areas:

  • Learning event management, you will learn how development programmes are successfully co-ordinated and assist in this activity.
  • Partner management, you will learn how we manage our external learning partners and attend appropriate meetings.
  • Facilitation, you will learn best practice in delivery skills and have an opportunity to co-deliver development workshops.

Reward

  • Being exposed to the annual compensation cycle of pay review (formatting and collating data in Excel), benchmarking to market all roles and updating and reporting on the salary surveys.
  • Assisting with the set-up of the annual benefits window including investigating new benefits, creating communication ideas and channels best suited for interaction within the business.
  • Attending external activities to support and develop the overall approach to Reward – this could be by lectures, seminars, discussion groups and other valuable activities.

Business Partnering

This rotation will spend dedicated time with the HR generalist/BP team to understand the day to day front line of HR. This role will enable you to gain insight into the commercial operations of the business, and how HR support and drive the business through organisational effectiveness. The role will support the HRBPs run programmes including restructures, change management, cross-functional alignment and building the HR strategy.

Essential Skills Required:

  • Experience gained within a corporate environment
  • High level of emotional intelligence
  • Proven communication skills
  • Able to use appropriate language to speak to various stakeholders
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Experience of working to deadlines
  • Commercially savvy and deep understanding of a corporate workplace
  • Good written and spoken English
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Dedicated and eager to learn
  • Enthusiastic team player

Educational Experience/interest:

  • A keen real passion for driving performance through engaged and empowered people
  • Keen interest in the HR function
  • Good Microsoft ability (Excel and Outlook most preferably)
