The On Air team at A + E Networks are currently looking for an On Air Planning intern to work within the On Air department, completing daily presentation schedules, continuity plans and scripts on all our channel brands and territories, including Sky History, Blaze, Crime & Investigation, and Sky History2.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the provision of accurate and creative schedules to Playout in a timely manner while maintaining a thorough understanding of their individual requirements and all associated services.
  • Assist with creating script grids and delivery of navigation assets.
  • Liaise with and prepare voice over artists for self-op sessions.
  • Strategise for monthly makelists/continuity plans.
  • Support Playout and collaborate to remedy on air issues.
  • Have a good knowledge of the channels, technology and operations required to perform your duties, and act as a resource for others to support their learning.
  • Consistently identify, prioritise and deal with incidents in a timely and professional manner by implementing the appropriate fix.
  • Escalate problems in the required timescales and via the most effective route, retaining ownership of the issues, promptly carrying out follow up analysis when needed.
  • Take the initiative to pass on information and updates, providing and receiving training when required.
  • Effectively manage late programme, continuity and promotional changes.
  • Act to support less experienced colleagues in the execution of their duties as required and, when requested, to better develop the strengths of the team.
  • Play a key role in the accurate attachment and resolution of issues with templates to ensure maximum minutage for Sky Media, thus playing a vital role in generating revenue.
  • Increase your knowledge and understanding of key stakeholder teams such as Playout, Media Planning, Programme Planning, Creative, and Compliance and Implement airtime strategy that has been set in collaboration with the Media Planning team. Understanding and interpreting promotional ratings to best effect. This will require you to attend allocation and commissioning meetings as well as viewing all promotional and branding material prior to them airing.
