The Role:

You will be working as a Mechanical Engineer focused on helping ASM deliver bespoke solutions to some of the world’s top technology companies. Our number one focus though is developing you.

Our team is a small ‘Technology Think Tank’. All opinions matter, we promote innovation and out of the box thinking.

On a day-to-day basis, the work will be ‘hands on’ in a lab-based environment. The content can expand across multiple engineering disciplines.

Your profile:

  • Studying a degree course in a Mechanical Manufacturing, Materials or Process Engineering discipline or similar
  • Be able to demonstrate part competence in own discipline; breadth of specialism limited within the major aspects of Engineering.
  • Be willing to extend knowledge to other key engineering disciplines (electrical, mechanical & Automation).
  • Training and Projects

We’ll help you make the most of your placement by offering you on the job training with your manager, peers and development programme. We have a plan individually tailored to each placement in order to track your performance and help you to enhance your existing transferrable skills as well as your course specific skills.

On top of your day-to-day role, you also have the chance to get involved in a variety of projects. These projects are in addition to your job role and include team working, exciting project management, creative and innovative thinking and representing the business at STEM events. There are also opportunities to be involved in the development and release of our new technology.
