Internal Audit Internship

About the business
Internal Audit is an independent area of our organisation, integral to us meeting our ambitions, and protecting the interests of our customers. We provide assurance by calling out risks, asking the tough questions, and challenging where we need to.

We make sure effective controls are always in place to manage our risks, keeping the bank and our customers safe.

About the programme

The aim of this eight week internship is to give you a taste of what it's like to work here, along with valuable skills and experiences that you'll bring into your future career.

This will be a great opportunity for you to:

  • Gain an insight into how the bank operates
  • Begin to understand the bank's business risk environment
  • Develop your relationship building skills

We'll reward you with a salary of £21,500 pro rata.

The programme starts with an induction, where you'll learn about the bank, meet your fellow interns, and get the chance to talk with colleagues from around our business.

You'll then begin a unique eight week placement, where you'll get involved with our live day to day work, and take part in a business project. This will give you the opportunity to complete research on a topic and come up with recommendations for improvement or change to support our ambitions.

During the programme, you'll also work on a social impact project. This will help you to develop keys skills covering team working, planning, creative thinking, business plan writing and problem solving, all while contributing to a valuable cause.

For the full eight weeks, we'll pair you with a ‘buddy' and a line manager, who'll help you grow your network and provide guidance and support.

At the end of the placement, we'll assess you on what you've learned. Complete this successfully, and you'll be offered a place on our 2023 Internal Audit graduate programme, where you'll carry the skills you've learned from your internship forward, taking the next exciting step in your career.
