Laboratory Based YII Placement

What could your placement include?

• Providing technical input and supporting a range of developments in their portfolio of health products.
• Developing products, solving technical challenges or project specific analytical testing
• Developing new formulations for Strepsils or Nurofen
• Analysing products, including: testing on equipment such as spray pattern testing of aerosols for Airwick brand or destruction testing of devices
• Supporting the Microbiology team with performing microbial quality preservative efficacy testing

• Location: All placements will be based in Hull, East Yorkshire. Hull is a fantastic, vibrant city which was awarded UK City of Culture in 2017
• Charity: Reckitt in Hull has played a significant role in the local community for over 150 years. As a Year in Industry student you will have the opportunity to get involved in local fundraising activities through Reckitt’s ‘Give Time’ initiative

Who is best suited to this role?

• You must be studying any scientific degree, including but not limited to Chemistry, Biology, Biomedical Science, Microbiology etc. Please note these placements are not suitable for engineering students.
• You must be looking for a 12-month placement starting in July 2022
• Placements will be laboratory based within one of the Research and Development teams. Your time will be divided between working in the lab as well completing desk based research and collaborating with colleagues. Please note none of the placement roles are 100% lab based. Reckitt will discuss with you your preferences and the most suitable placement for your degree
• For all roles you should have scientific curiosity, be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, have strong attention to detail, enjoy the challenge of delivering under pressure and working collaborative in a team environment.
