Business Improvement Industrial Placement

Degree Requirements:

Must be studying an undergraduate degree in Business or a related subject. You will have completed a minimum of 2 years of your undergraduate degree but will not have graduated at the start of your placement. You will be expected to provide evidence from your university to show you will be an undergraduate student for the duration of the placement year.

An opportunity exists for candidates with a business background to work alongside a team to help deliver business improvement and communication projects. In addition to this, opportunities will arise to develop in coaching, Continuous Improvement, programme management and communication processes, which can be readily transferable to any other job.

You will learn how to manage a project and work with a team effectively to deliver a successful outcome. The role ranges from learning about manufacturing to gaining knowledge surrounding the ‘people’ side of business and to supporting infrastructure projects and supporting business functions.

You will be applying the skills you already have learnt at university and developing new skills such as team working, effective communication and time management. You will work with and learn from an experienced, multi-disciplined team. They will coach and mentor you during your year to help you achieve your potential.

You’ll need:

  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Good Microsoft Excel and Word skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to interact with people at all levels in the organisation
  • Ability to work on your own initiate to drive improvements and projects
  • Use of Power BI software is preferred but not essential as training will be available
  • Ability to demonstrate qualities aligned with GSK Values and Expectations.
