Engineering Year In Industry Placement Student – Design & Consultancy Team
Are you currently studying at university and keen to enhance your academic studies with some fantastic workplace experience working on real-life projects within highways/construction? One of our Year in Industry Placements could be just the role for you!
Via are currently recruiting for someone to join our Design and Consultancy Team for a 12-month placement based at our Trent Bridge House in West Bridgford or Bilsthorpe Head Office Depot!
About the role:
Highway maintenance is essential to ensure we provide safe access to hospitals, schools, businesses etc and is paramount for public safety. We work on the preservation and keeping of carriageways, footways and other highway features.
Our placements offer first-hand experience working on real highways improvement projects! You could be working on major projects and improvements, such as our Gedling Access Road project or A614/A6097 Major Road Network Scheme, on carriageway and footway resurfacing schemes, drainage projects or bus stop and pedestrian crossing schemes. You’ll get the chance to experience site meetings, surveys, the design stage and be involved in ensuring and maintaining quality documentation.
You’ll work alongside experienced engineers and learn first-hand from our industry experts. We link all our placements to professional development and will actively support you in gaining experience for you to use as evidence. Our placement opportunity will be very beneficial for your final year of university too!
Following the completion of your placement, if you perform well and impress, and you enjoy your time with us, there may also be the opportunity to ‘fast-track’ on to our graduate scheme once you finish your degree!
Candidate Requirements:
Our Year in Industry placements are only open to those currently studying (i.e. students who will be returning to university following the completion of the placement year).
We’re looking for students who have a keen interest in the Highways and Construction and want to develop some great experience within the sector!
We look for those studying toward degrees in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Electrical Engineering (or similar).
