HR Summer Internship

Duration: 6 weeks (July – August)

You’ll have either just completed your second year as an undergraduate or your third year moving onto a Masters degree.

We’re changing up the future

We’re on a mission to build the UK’s finest digital infrastructure and unleash Britain’s potential. We’re connecting communities, boosting businesses, and giving everyone access to superfast broadband. We’re also changing up the industry - we might be growing fast but we still behave like a start-up, with an open and inclusive environment where people can be themselves, speak up and make time for what matters.

What’s in it for you?

This is a fantastic opportunity to take the lead on and deliver a project within a specific division at CityFibre. You’ll get invaluable hands-on work experience, learning from our talented people whilst still adding real value to the business and helping us to transform communities across the UK.

We’re also offering a competitive salary which will be pro-rata across a six-week period.

What will you be doing?

Your two key focuses for this placement will be to project manage the digitalisation of employee records from paper to system based, as well as working alongside our Employee Relations Lead to support on disciplinary and grievance meetings. This will include note taking, adding cases to our HR system, and providing input into outcome letters.

What will you bring to the role?

You’ll be on track for a 2:1 (or have already received this grade if you’re moving on to a Masters), have a keen interest in HR and a willingness to learn.

Because you’ll be digitizing our HR records, it’s important that you’re comfortable using different software, and have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

You’ll be an excellent communicator (verbal and written) who has strong interpersonal skills and is easily able to engage with people at all levels, whilst maintaining the confidentiality needed working within an HR function.

Our unique culture

We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer; we celebrate diversity, we believe everyone has a voice and we’re committed to creating an inclusive environment for all. Even though we come from different backgrounds and do different jobs, we’re united by The CityFibre Way - our unique code of behaviours that inspires how we think, act and work. We back each other, think smart and act fast, and we’re passionate about giving it our best to build a legacy together.
