Job Title: Assistant Project Manager (Work Placement)
Time Commitment: 37 hours a week

Role Overview

We are looking for a talented individual to undertake a 12-month paid work placement, as part of our Business Placement Programme. The role is based at our Wolverhampton site and you will work within the Wolverhampton Nacelles Value Stream team.

You will work in our Programs department, starting in June 2021.

You will have the opportunity to build a deep knowledge of business imperatives and operational issues, as well as the opportunity to fully participate in the business. The Program Management function is a site based team who work closely with all areas of the business to deliver our strategic priorities. Using solutions that are aligned to best-in-class business and commercial aerospace manufacturing practices.

Upon joining our team your typical responsibilities might include:

  • Support a multi-disciplined group of people to achieve contracted and targeted project objectives On Time and In Full (OTIF).
  • Be a key support interface on all aspects of the programme. This will occasionally involve communicating with senior level management within the Customer’s organisation, so candidates should have experience / presence of working / communicating at that level.
  • Working with the IPT leads to generate, maintain and effectively communicate project plans and resource profiles ensuing correct documentation of standard work
  • Change management coordination & tracking to enable cost recovery from customer
  • Supporting Project Status Reviews to Customer and Nacelles Senior Management
  • Ensure Key Project Indicators are tracked, maintained and reported on a regular basis via the business operating systems
  • Be an advocate for, and drive continuous improvement activities utilising the Collins Continuous Improvement methodologies
  • Assist in generating briefs and communications to senior levels of the Actuation business and ensuring the communication is tailored for the right audience

Requirements

Undergraduate studying a degree relating to Business Management who has a genuine interest in the Aerospace Industry.
