IT Applications Developer Placement

We have over 20 placement students each year at our Hazelwood site near Derby across business science and engineering roles in 2021| 22.

The Applications Developer role represents an opportunity to work in a small group developing custom applications for chemists and engineers.

What you will be doing:

• Developing innovative software solutions that help chemists and engineers both run tests and visualize the results of those tests.
• Supporting both existing applications and developing your own business solutions
• You will be using development tools including:
• C# and Microsoft.NET framework
• SQL Server for database development
• Web development with JavaScript and .NET Core MV     
• Cloud Services

What you will need:

• Studying towards an IT related degree involving a year in industry, achieving a 2:1 or above
• A general knowledge of software development practices
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and enjoy challenges
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a team as well as alone
• Need strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks accordingly to ensure all deadlines are met
