HW/SW Part-Time Undergraduate Placement

What are we searching for?

We are seeking an outstanding, highly motivated intern to join one of our hardware and software related teams. You will possibly work within the

  • Central Engineering Methodology team, to creatively improve processes that drive efficient CPU development.
  • Central Technology Solutions Functional Safety team to use a wide variety of techniques to analyse and verify newly developed solutions
  • Automotive and IoT Functional Safety team todevelop and improve processes to derive development of safe products and solutions.

What could I be contributing to?

Central Engineering Methodology group you will be working closely with design teams to resolve issues and automate processes that help standardize the way we develop and deliver CPU products to our internal and external customers. Your work will focus on impacting the verification effectiveness and efficiencies of the design teams.

Central Technology Solutions team, you will join a growing and highly motivated team responsible to develop Functionally Safe architectures for state of the art projects within autonomous drive systems, digital cockpit and robotics.

Automotive and IoT team, you will be working with a fast growing and strong team to resolve issues, automate processes and define management systems to help standardize the way we develop and deliver our Automotive &IoT products to achieve the toughest certification requirements in functional safety.

What skills and experience should I have?

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a strong desire to pursue a career in hardware design or software engineering. They will have some programming experience.

  • You should be pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or Electronic/Electrical/Computer Engineering or other similar degree
  • Your interest, coursework, and experience should span both software and hardware. You are likely to be strong in one discipline than the other but have some foundation in both worlds.
  • You have demonstrated leadership skills to enable working effectively with both local and global teams
  • You have the ability to collaborate and communicate well within an engineering team
  • You have the willingness to take risks and collaborate with collegues to create solutions to new problems
  • You are motivated to continuously develop skills and accept a variety of responsibilities as part of contributing to the company’s success
  • You can demonstrate a positive attitude and respect for all members of the team
  • A strong interest in process definition and optimization

Desirable:

  • Experience with Python (C, C++, Verilog or other programming languages), computer architecture, or large data analysis is a plus
  • Would be comfortable working in a Linux environment.
  • Academic knowledge of a subset of the following subjects: Safety, Reliability, Industrialor Automotive or Aerospace systems engineering
