Franchise Marketing Placement

Do you want to work for one of the world’s leading media and entertainment companies in the development, production, marketing of entertainment and news?

To join one of our 12-month Internships you will be:

  • Currently studying at University and applying for a Placement year in your 2nd or final year or have just graduated
  • Looking for work experience immediately after completing A-Levels or equivalent course or an Apprenticeship
  • You must also be eligible to work in the UK without restriction for the duration of the internship from July 2021-July 2022
  • Fluent in English

What will I be doing?

As an intern on the EMEA Franchise team, you will have the opportunity to make valuable contributions to the department and build your knowledge in order to pursue a career in marketing and franchise. You will be the regional franchise point person for other divisions. Working with territories across EMEA, you will inspire teams to collaborate on plans across the core franchises – Jurassic World, Trolls, Minions, Dragons, Spirit, Fast & Furious and the Universal Vault, Monsters and Horror portfolio. Analysing data to support retail and licensee partners will be an important skill as well as creating pitch materials and maintaining materials for reference. You will be a hub of key franchise information which you will collate and distribute to territories and to key stakeholders.

What will I learn from this opportunity?

The intern will learn about the business functions across departments that support the ongoing success of a franchise, and the consumer touchpoints that exist within each ecosystem. They will gain an understanding of the consumer products business, TV landscape across EMEA, theatrical business as well as which business units drive the most revenue cross-franchise. They will also get to delve into research and data and analyse how Universal brands perform across the EMEA region and what opportunities may exist to develop brands further as is the main function of Universal Brand Development.
