Mechanical Design Placement

We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic intern to join our Mechanical Design team for a 12-month placement. You will be helping us to Design & Engineer the next generation of music making products, working to ensure that they meet the high standards of quality, ease of use, and reliability that our customers have come to expect from us.

You’ll work closely with the rest of the Product Design Team, and other members of the Engineering Department, including Product and Project Managers, as well as Hardware, Software and Firmware Developers.

Core Responsibilities Include:

  • Helping our team by creating and developing 3D/2D parts and assemblies in CAD
  • Generating exploded assembly drawings and managing mechanical bill of materials (BOM’s)
  • Creating and managing Product Silkscreen artwork files
  • Assisting with the building and reviewing of prototype units
  • Support our existing products and users by assisting with on-going production updates and issue resolution

What We’re Looking For:

  • Working towards a degree-level qualification in Product Design Engineering, Mechanical Design, or related discipline
  • Interested in Mechanical Product Design of mass-produced products
  • Familiar with CAD software such as Solidworks, Inventor, Adobe Illustrator
  • Some experience with assembly and disassembly of electro-mechanical consumer products. knowledge of 3D printing would also be an advantage
  • Curious and self-motivated and have a growth mindset
  • A clear communicator, methodical and rigorous, with a logical approach to problem solving
  • An interest in music, recording, or audio would be beneficial
