Research Analyst Summer Internship

We are offering a unique opportunity to spend the summer learning what it is really like to be an equity Research Analyst.

You should have a thirst for learning and challenge consensual thinking. You should have a logical and analytical thought process and an inquisitive mind. You should be able to think laterally, across regions and sectors, be a strong communicator and enjoy working as part of a team.

We are extremely proud of our track record in developing our interns to be successful long term members of our team, and hope to offer this year’s candidates the opportunity to join us after their studies.

The programme will take place between July and August, and is based at our London offices in the heart of Mayfair.

Our culture is unique

Our culture is entrepreneurial and collegiate. Analysts are given the intellectual freedom to research stocks in the way that is most suited for that stock / sector and everything is done to protect the analyst’s time to focus purely on investing. Fundamental active equity research lies at the heart of what we do.

Analysts have global sector responsibilities and are tasked with finding the best investment opportunities globally for our clients. Our analysts are career analysts, and this is a dedicated and highly respected career path within the organisation.

Our people are open, honest and straightforward. Former interns have commented how genuinely friendly and approachable we are, and how we go out of our way to help them learn.

What to expect

You will be given actual work from the very first day you arrive. After your induction, you will be individually mentored by one of our experienced analysts for the duration of the programme.

The internship will give you a broad and in depth understanding of the skills required to be successful at our firm - from fundamental research, financial modelling, to portfolio construction and valuation. You will also be introduced to various divisions of our wider business.

You will be given a sector to analyse and asked to present a buy/sell recommendation on a stock(s) to a panel of investors at the end of your internship.

You will have opportunities to attend business, training and social events to allow you to understand our company and the asset management industry, alongside building your own network.

Applications

Our firm is made up of motivated, intellectually curious people. We are looking for students with a strong academic record, an interest in investing and curiosity for what makes companies successful (or not). Well-rounded candidates from a diverse range of backgrounds, who can demonstrate interests and endeavors outside of their studies, are especially welcome.

Our team possess a wide range of degree disciplines, and it is this variety of thought, approach and perspective which brings such vitality to our debates.

The programme is open to undergraduate and postgraduate students in their penultimate year of study. Please note that you must have ABB in your top three A-levels (excluding general studies), and a minimum predicted or obtained 2.1 university degree classification (or equivalent if you studied outside the UK).

Assessments will be held in November and December.
