What does the Data department do?

The data team is responsible for building a fully integrated, bespoke and in-house developed technology stack to ingest, process, transform and broadcast all types of data, real-time and historical, to allow for advanced analytics, decision making, deal capture, on-desk trading operations and off-desk trading support.

Trading is transitioning into a data driven business. High quality data and the agility of the analysis are becoming the differentiator. EDF Trading has a leading footprint in the European energy markets and wants to monetise and optimise data as an asset. You will have the opportunity to see this in action.

What are my responsibilities?

You will work on a variety of activities which will help the team in achieving their overall goals. These may include:

• Data processing and cataloguing to ensure the key commercial teams have access to well catalogued, high quality, cleaned, validated and properly time-stamped data
• Python integration projects

What do I need to qualify for this internship?

• You will be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in a STEM based subject; ideally one that is Computer Science based.
• You will have good programming skills, ideally in Python and/or C#.
• You will be capable of working with large amounts of data; organising and analysing etc.

This unique 10-week paid internship will be the envy of your fellow students and friends. At the end of your internship you will be invited to deliver a presentation on your business project findings to a panel of executives.
