Spring Insight Programme

Whatever degree discipline you are studying, your skills and passions have a place at HSBC. With our Spring Insight Programme in the UK, you can learn about the opportunities and benefits of working in international banking, and meet world-class business leaders who share an interest in your career.

Overview

On our four-day programme, we will give you a taste of life in a dynamic and diverse global bank, showing you what it is like to work in the exciting business areas within our Global Banking & Markets business.

What you can expect

This programme will help you when it comes to deciding which banking career route interests you and what area you might like to pursue in the future. You can build your understanding of the different areas of our business, receive behavioural skills training, take part in case study sessions, attend networking events, and see what our experts do on a daily basis. You will also have the opportunity to meet senior leaders and peers who are there to improve your learning experience.

What you will do

During this programme, you can discover where your skills and passions fit best by immersing yourself in some hands-on tasks, interactive learning sessions, skills workshops, and work shadowing. You will hear from senior leaders and professionals from our core business areas within our Global Banking & Markets business. You will also get an insight into how we work in each area, from the importance of teamwork and communication skills needed to build client relationships, to the in-depth understanding of analysis and modelling needed to interpret market data for our clients.

No matter what you are currently studying, our Spring Insight Programme is developed to help inform your future career choices. The experience will allow you to not only learn about HSBC, but also to learn a bit about yourself.

Who does this suit?

We are looking for motivated, courageous and curious individuals who are:

  • Inquisitive learners. Being able to ask questions shows that you are willing to learn, so we are looking for those who are hungry for knowledge and a holistic experience of the business
  • Diverse thinkers. During the programme, we will invite you to get involved in a range of activities. You should be keen to share ideas, bringing a fresh outlook to each task
  • Supportive communicators. We will introduce you to lots of new people during your time with us. Having a collaborative attitude will help you to solve problems quickly as a team and start to build a network of peers who are there to support you, and be supported too
  • Opportunity takers. We accept new challenges every day and we want you to do the same. You should volunteer for any tasks available to you during this programme to get a real taste of life at HSBC

What can this lead to?

If our Spring Insight Programme inspires you, now is the time to start thinking about a future internship with us. If you show the right skills and enthusiasm, this could be your opportunity to be fast-tracked to the final stages of assessment for an internship the following year. It could be the start of an exciting and successful career with us.
