Software Engineer Placement

We are now looking for undergraduates that have the talent and ambition to become skilled software engineers. During your placement with us we will ensure that you are challenged and given every opportunity to grow your knowledge and experience as part of an Agile scrum team of 5-8 experienced software engineers supporting and encouraging you at every step.

As a global leader in 3D design, engineering, and entertainment software, Autodesk helps people imagine, design, and create a better world. At our UK flagship office in Birmingham you will be able to take advantage of our on-site Technology Centre that provides access to extensive machining and inspection equipment to ensure that your code works as well in practice as it does on your computer screen.

For those with us for a 12-month rotational placement you get opportunity to work in a variety of Agile Scrum teams, made up of 5-8 experienced software engineers, as part of a larger manufacturing development team of more than 100 developers in an environment that is both challenging and rewarding. As your skills develop, you will be expected to work using your own initiative to develop innovative solutions to meet our customers’ demands for software that is faster, more powerful and more productive. Those only with us for the summer will still get the training and support but will only have time to experience one scrum team but our hope is it would be the start of long career at Autodesk with lots more opportunities to come in the future.

Our staff are our biggest asset and we work hard to ensure that we get the best from each individual and that they get the maximum from us. We offer competitive salaries, flexible working, a company pension scheme, and for permanent staff private medical cover and an annual bonus scheme. We encourage our staff to get to know each other out of the office with subsidized social activities including gym membership and sports clubs.
